About the Author

Ekong Edem Ekong is from Mbikp?ñ Ik?d Edim in
Ibesikpo Asutan LGA, Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria.
He is a Retired Professor of Rural Sociology,
University of Uyo, Nigeria, and the Author of
several books including The Sociology of Ibibio.
He is a Fellow of the Nigerian Rural Sociological
Association (FNRSA). He was also honored with
the Officer of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,
OFR, in 2006.
