Overview

A Women's Fight To Survive is a collection of my blog posts chronicaling when I first got clean in 2019. It follows through the first year and a half of my recovery from opiate addiction and how I am doing now as I hit my five year anniversary.

It is about some of the trials and tribulations I went through regarding not only my recovery but my learning how to cope with the mental health issues and traumas from my past. The effects of not feeling like I was enough, and being sexually, physically and verbally abused. It also tells the story of how I started therapy, cut off all contact with my family, and started seeing a psychiatrist. I'd like to use my story to help others speak up about their mental health issues. I want to help them understand that they are not alone and that they can overcome these types of problems.

It entails not only the things I went through but also the things my husband and children had to endure along the way.

This book is a memoir of a certain part of my life.

About the Author

Nikki Westbrook is a loving wife and mother of three who has long had a passion for writing, but has struggled to find the right subject to write about. After battling addiction, and an alphabet soup of mental illness diagnosis for more than a decade, she finally found a subject that was both impactful and very near to her heart. Her desire is for her story to be an inspirational message to others who are facing similar scenarios, for them to never give up hope and to know that they are not alone in their fight.
